Session Infomation

This session will mainly focus on Axions and Axion Electrodynamics. Axions are hypothetical particles currently considered as one of the most promising candidates for the Dark Matter. It is therefore of fundamental importance studying their properties and their interaction with electromagnetic fields, also in view of their possible detection, that is a very challenging issue. Main topics of this session will be the properties and interactions of axions, the interaction of axions with electromagnetic fields and with atomic or molecular systems, the role of axions in the evolution of the Universe, and methods to detect axions exploiting their interaction with electromagnetic fields and ordinary matter.
