Arrival Guide to Prague Congress Center and recommended hotels

Note: Temporary Interruption of Metro Operations between stations of line "C":
"Prazského povstani" – "Muzeum"
Dear participants of the PIERS 2023 conference in Prague,
dear colleagues and friends,

Prague's public transport has a reputation as a very reliable system. It was recently rated as the second best within the EU.
Sometimes, however, there are temporary changes, one of which unfortunately affects the underground line "C", which is important for connecting the Prague Congress Center (station "Vysehrad") with the center of Prague (station "Muzeum"), see the attached document.
The journey between "Vysehrad" and "Muzeum" stations can thus take about 15 minutes. I am very sorry that your stay in Prague will be slightly complicated by this.
My best regards to all of you,
Jan Vrba

Prague's public transport is one of the best and safest in the European Union. But even so, we have one important warning: As in all major cities of the world, it is recommended to be careful with protection of you documents, etc. Please keep them in a safe place in your clothing or luggage, etc.

We would also like to point out that ticket checks in Prague's public transport are quite frequent. Therefore, please keep the purchased tickets in a safe place too.

Dining in Prague:

During the PIERS 2023 symposium, it will be possible to buy light refreshments (baguettes, salad, etc.) directly at the Prague Congress Center at noon.

There are several restaurants in the vicinity of the congress center, but their capacity is probably not big enough for all PIERS participants. We therefore recommend using fast foods in several large shopping centers along metro line "C", e.g. in the Chodov and Pankrac stations (Westfield Chodov and Arkady Pankrac).

And there are many restaurants in the historical center of Prague, e.g. Café Slavia (https://www.cafeslavia.cz/en/ ), Bruxx (https://www.bruxx.cz/eng/ ), Kolkovna (https://budejovicka.kolkovna.cz), etc.
