Session Infomation

Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR), benefited from its advantages of abundant polarization information, high resolution and capability with all-time and all-weather, etc., has been widely adopted in remote sensing applications. This session mainly focuses on latest developments in polarimetric SAR applications of ocean remote sensing. The topics include, but are not limited to, advanced polarimetric radar theory and polarimetric SAR imaging, technical innovations of compact polarimetry and relevant applications in ocean remote sensing, polarimetric SAR image applications in detecting targets on ocean surface (e.g., ships, offshore drilling platforms, oil spills, etc.) and retrieving ocean dynamic parameters (e.g., wind field, current, wave spectrum, etc.), and advances in artificial intelligence techniques for polarimetric SAR image processing such as image denoising, image classification and segmentation, etc.
