Modern communication systems, regardless of the specific application and frequency range, all require highly efficient management of the available supply power. In the last decades, power amplification becomes a key element for the disruptive advancements and spread of wireless technologies, finding today applications in mobile and satellite telecommunications, IoT, automotive, quantum electronics, radars, and remote sensing systems. The constant increase of performance-demanding applications is enabled by the continuous advancements in microwave technologies, as well as in microwave integrated circuit design and characterization techniques.
This session focuses on the present state-of-the-art for the development of high-efficiency and high linearity power amplifiers, especially in the microwave and millimeter wave frequency ranges, developed for both ground and space applications.
