Session Infomation

Polaritonics is a research field focusing on polariton-driven light−matter interactions at the nanoscale and their potential applications in the manipulation of nano-light. The advancement of various two-dimensional materials, designed metastructures, and state-of-the-art nanotechnologies have boosted the study of polaritons, with different dimensions and at extreme time and space scales, offering unprecedent opportunities for nanophotonics, metaphotonics, topological photonics and nonlinear optics. This session focuses on the fundamental physics, numerical modeling, and experimental implementation of polaritonics in both natural and artificial systems. Example topics include surface/interface polaritonics, cavity polaritonics, ultrafast polaritonics, quantum and nonlocal polaritonics, polariton chemistry and polaritonic devices, such as sensors, detectors, waveguides, lenses, lasers, circuitries, etc.
