Motivated by the eagerness of holographic devices towards being thin, lightweight and flexible, research on metasurface holography has provided a general platform to implement advanced holography featured with ultracompactness, high-performance, multichannel and multifunctionality. This session focuses on the basic principles and design approaches of metasurface holography, as well as their applications in ultracompact image display, optical anti-counterfeiting, optical storage, information encryption, VR/AR, pattern recognition, optical communications, etc. Example topics include full-color/three-dimensional/dynamic meta-holography, multichannel/multifunctional meta-holography, AI-empowered meta-holography, holographic nanoprinting, and the integration of meta-holography with other optical functions, etc.
